Royal Conservatory of Music (R.C.M.) spring exams seem to be just around the corner again. Theory and History exams fall on May 10 and 11 this year, just five weeks away! If you find yourself needing a little help with your Rudiments studies, you may want to register for one of the listed courses. Currently, I have Preparatory, Basic, and Intermediate Rudiments programs available.

For registered students, each of the rudiments program includes the materials for the course, a glossary of terms,  a series of worksheets, a marking service, and up to one hour of Skype time. The cost of these programs is fairly inexpensive, and you will get valuable feedback on your progress.

You can also review your History 1 material here. The program includes biographies of all required composers, descriptions of the pieces, and a YouTube playlist.

All courses include a glossary of required terms with definitions, and flashcards for your practice.

If you are preparing for any of the other courses like Basic or Intermediate Harmony, you may like to try some Skype time. Skype lessons are becoming more popular with adult students, especially those working on their own. They are inexpensive compared to private lessons, and you can get valuable feedback in any area you may need help.

If you are starting to work on practice exams, as are my students, you may be interested in my new Theory & History Exam Assessment service. You can submit up to three exams, which I will correct for you, make comments, and offer suggestions.

Since this is a new service I am offering it at a discounted rate of $55 until April 15 2013. Register for the service as you would for any course. If you need to, create a new account for the site, Once you have confirmed your email address, follow this link, make your payment, and you're good to go!

You will also be happy to know that I will be adding an Advanced Rudiments course soon. I am busy working through the material now, pretty much daily. Watch for the first few lessons to open in the upcoming weeks.
